Bright Nights at Forest Park

 More than 650,000 lights along a three-mile path! November 22 - January 1. Closed November 27-28. Sunday to Thursday -- 5PM to 9PM Fridays, Saturdays and Holidays -- 5PM to 11PM. On weekends, kettle corn will be freshly popped and s'mores melting over open fire. December 4-5, 11-12, 18-19. Free Stocking Decorating for kids. Through December 22, horse-drawn wagon rides will be offered.

Beginning the day after Thanksgiving and running through New Year’s Day, the Park comes alive with our Winter Wonderland Holiday Light Display nightly until 9pm. All of the Park’s beautifully decorated holiday displays are designed and handcrafted by members of the Park’s maintenance staff. This program is dedicated to the spirit, beauty and simplicity of an old fashioned holiday season.

Springfield Museums Exhibit: Jeweled Objects of Desire

On view through December 31. Visitors of all ages will be dazzled by extraordinary gems, beautiful jewelry and fantastically embellished creations from the collections of the Smithsonian Institution. The special exhibition also features the work of internationally renowned jewelry designer Sidney Mobell, celebrated for crafting common utilitarian items into unique artworks through the use of gold and precious gemstones. Free with museum admission.

Norman Rockwell Museum Exhibition: Holiday Images

November 24, 2017 through February 4, 2018 Season’s Greetings explores the themes of Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and winter fun, through a festive variety of artworks and archival objects from the Norman Rockwell Museum Collection. Original paintings and drawings by Rockwell, the artist’s studio items, and imagery by illustrators working from Golden Age through today will be the focus of this festive installation highlighting the holidays as a central theme in published art.

Springfield Museums Exhibit: Jack & Jackie

Jack & Jackie: The Kennedys in the White House (December 8, 2017–March 25, 2018) celebrates America’s 35th President John F. Kennedy and first lady Jacqueline Kennedy by highlighting their White House years, 1961-1963. The exhibition also honors the centennial of John F. Kennedy’s birth, May 29, 1917; he was the first president born in the 20th century. The exhibit also features costumes and props from the acclaimed miniseries “The Kennedys.” And a gallery devoted to a recreation of the Oval Office—with photo opportunities available sitting at the Resolute Desk.
